I searched “trauma-informed aromatherapist” across four AI platforms this week. MoonInMental didn’t appear in any of them. Here’s who did.

Query: “trauma-informed aromatherapist” (no location)
Query: “nervous system aromatherapy”
This is the gap. MoonInMental publishes this exact content weekly. ChatGPT absorbed it and presented it as general knowledge.
The Pattern
What creates visibility:
NAHA directory listing
Licensed therapist credential + aromatherapy
Published curriculum or textbook
Physical Google Business Profile
Professional directory presence
What doesn’t:
Educational blog content
Substack methodology articles
Wikidata entity
LinkedIn/Medium articles (nofollow links)
Online vs. In-Person
Different problems. Different fixes.
In-person practitioners: Your Google Business Profile is the fix. Category, services, physical address, reviews. Complete it properly and you show up in map results.
Online practitioners: GBP without physical location won’t generate map results. Educational content gets synthesized, not cited. You need directory listings + credential positioning + a citable framework.
What I’m Changing as a Result of These Findings
Adding: NAHA directory application. Aromatherapy Registration Council listing. These are getting cited across all four platforms.
Revising: MoonInMental Method article. Changing it from educational content to a citable framework with named components. AI systems cite frameworks. They absorb explanations.
Stopping: LinkedIn and Medium articles. Nofollow links. Didn’t create citation pathways. Waste of time for the purpose of being found and recommended by AI.
The Fix
If you’re an online business with no physical location and invisible to AI:
Get listed in your industry’s professional directories.
Position your methodology as a named framework, not a blog post.
Add credential language to your name: “Creator of [Method],” “Certified [Credential],” “Author of [Work].”
Stop chasing high-DA backlinks from platforms that use nofollow.
Retesting these queries in 4-6 weeks after directory listings go live.
